Missions
Because of God’s great love for us, we want to respond. Missions are the ways that we respond with gratitude to God’s love and mercy in our lives, by helping others. Our missions reach from Middle Mount Vernon Road through the state of Indiana, the United States, and even around the world. We participate in many global missions through the United Methodist Church worldwide. We also provide hands-on local, national, and international mission opportunities through service and trips.

We make a special effort one weekend a year to have the entire church involved in mission. It’s called “The Pointe is Change.” We work with dozens of mission groups into Evansville and Mount Vernon as we leave the building and make a difference. Teams perform tasks at a wide range of venues. Everything from pulling weeds, painting, sewing, building, pouring concrete, visiting, trimming bushes, and reaching out into the community. The testimonies of those we partner with in ministry at these sites tell the tale: we can make a huge difference.

Locally we offer mission opportunities at the following:
-
Isaiah 117 Vanderburgh County -temporary housing for foster children waiting for placement
-
Food Pantry – supported through donations of food and money, as well as furnishing teams twice a month to distribute groceries
-
United Caring Services – preparation and serving meals for the homeless
-
United Methodist Youth Home – meal preparations, educating opportunities, and occasional maintenance work
Short, medium, and long-term mission trips are planned both locally and internationally.
